...I remember on the news that a plane was going around the country collecting the Bin Ladins to take them out of the country...
My sweetie and I are pretty sure we saw this plane (or one of these planes) taking off from Tampa on the 12th or 13th of September. We were driving on the Interstate and saw a plain white, not military-looking, medium-sized jet taking off. It was the only thing in the skies (except for military planes) for days. We remarked on it at the time, because it wasn't coming from MacDill - it was definitely taking off from the Tampa airport and we thought that all planes were supposed to be grounded. We didn't know until much later about the Bin Laden family plane(s), though.

I guess I should have read down a bit farther...guess lots of folks in Tampa saw that plane.
(Gonna go back to quietly lurking now...)

Yes but did it emit chemtrails? that's the real question conspiracy buffs want answered.
To: kinghorse
No, no chemtrails. :-)
I will tell you something funny, though - in the days after 9/11, I was terrified of EVERYTHING. That plane scared the daylights out of me, then a couple of days later I was completely horrified by a crab trap hanging off of the Skyway bridge. Every time we'd drive by the airport, I'd pick out 20 places where terrorists could be hiding to shoot down planes. Every overpass was a great place for a truck bomb. Football games? Forget about it.
So, I would not have been the least bit surprised to see chemtrails. (Probably would have run around screaming, "See! I told you we're all gonna die!")

Frankly people can't really identify "middle easterners" as easily as they think they can, especially if they don't cooperate by wearing a thick beard and an Arab robe or something. Half the people people would call Middle Easterners are East Indians which are 3000 miles from the "Middle East." Heck, Saddam Hussein cleaned up and in a suit could be Greek, Italian, Spanish, etc. And Muslims from Chechnya and Bosnia can be blonde with blue eyes. Not to mention, the ones from Somalia are black.

So what are we supposed to do? Run around in circles, wave your arms over your head and scream. Panic everybody, PANIC!!!

President Bush did on Sept. 11, grounding all aircraft.Pres. Bush DID NOT do that. It was done by an relatively low-level aviation official. He made an on-the-spot call. Which I think is great. This, along with Flight 93, shows that Americans can think on their feet and make difficult and personally dangerous decisions to protect their country.

MSNBC said they had been meeting behind closed doors for 72 hours before the announcement today. This could simply mean they were arguing about it. That not everyone felt the terror alert needed to be raised.

I know but they wouldn't go to orange and cancel all vacations without some good evidence.

maybe there weren't those who didn't want the alert heightened to orange. But they may have wanted it all the way up to red. I hope you are right but fear you are wrong.

I believe it was Norm Mineta who ordered all planes in the air to land.

That's a pretty serious charge. What makes her terrorist-friendly? Granted she isn't hosting an AQ website out of her basement, but she is a big-time socialist that has been a thorn in the side of Oregon politics for years. She recently announced that she will not be running for re-election next year - Yipeee!

I too heard a plane taking off from Logan at night during that time.
It was noticeable because there were no other planes except the CP during that time.
