They showed that footage (along with much more) a few days ago on the History Channel, as part of a three-hour documentary. IIRC, that incident took place five days after he assumed control of Iraq. It definitely was something to behold . . .

I'd often wondered how Saddam Hussein could keep the country in an iron grip for so long.

See Brave Man's post above. I think the recent showing was actually a re-run, as the History Channel is probably where I saw this footage a while ago, possibly during the debate about going to war.

We should make sure he gets the death sentence but be humane and give him a choice how he wants to die.... either by jumping from Empire State Building, being crushed by thousands of tons of concrete, or in a fiery plane crash.
