Just got tired of typing. I'm not the best at it, especially since I'm sober right now. And yea, I remember the pantyhose commercial and vaguely remember the Ann Margaret movie. It was just a regular thang for Joe to have a good lookin babe around in some capacity or other. I think he played a cameo role in that movie "Midnight Cowboy" also. Remember when Bama lost to Texas in the Orange Bowl when Tommy Nobis stopped Joe on a sneak at the goal line. They tried to give Joe the MVP trophy for the game and he refused it because they lost?

I've never heard about the MVP trophy but Namath didn't even enter the game until Alabama was behind by two scores. I do have the radio broadcast of the game by NBC Radio and the official Orange Bowl film however. The film gushes over Joe so much that you'd thought his given name was "The Brilliant Joe Namath". The winning QB got no such praise from whoever wrote the film. A little aside is that the Texas team that beat Bama featured Namath's future Jet teammates George Sauer, Pete Lammons and Jim Hudson.
