A UN employee of my acquaintance would always report the bribes he had to pay while working in Nigeria on his expense report as "MISC: BRIBES". The accountants back at the Home Office would have fits with him, asking him to report it as anything else but that. They provided tons of money to be paid out as bribes for everything from getting through the airport to getting your bags back from the hotel, but they did not want to actually have a record of that fact.

It is simply not possible to do anything in Nigeria without bribes.
