If you think that Protestants are "leftist" you must not know many of them, and you certainly don't live in the South

You only speak of mainline protestant churches and many Catholics(last time I checked most, if not many politicians claiming to be Catholics are leftists--Ted Kennedy anyone). If you have never been to a fundamental independent church or the more orthodox branches of the Lutheran church, than you don't know what you are talking about. Let's face it. The 40% on either side of the aisle attending church aren't the leftists.
