Libya's leader Colonel Gaddafi has said his country sought to develop weapons of mass destruction capabilities but will dismantle this programme completely, Prime Minister Tony Blair has announced. "This decision is an historic one and a courageous one and I applaud it," Mr Blair said.
Colonel Gaddafi had told him the process of dismantling the programme would be "transparent and verifiable", the prime minister said in a statement from Durham Cathedral.
The range of all Libya's missiles would be restricted to "no more then 300km, he added.
Mr Blair said Britain had been engaged in talks with Libya for nine months.
"Libya came to us in March following successful negotiations on Lockerbie to see if it could resolve its weapons of mass destruction issue in a similarly cooperative manner," he said.

I heard he's 5'6".Nah, I can't imagine he's THAT short... I was checking out Dean's campaign site, and there's a whole bunch of people worried that he IS in fact to short to win the Presidency. Hahahaha!

It might be the leisure suit, but when I see these older photos, I think "Tom Jones".

I think he's vying for Baghdad Bob's old job!
Speaking of Baghdad Bob, what's he up to these days? I was really hoping he would do a commercial spot in the Super Bowl.

The ultimate would be if ol' Kaddafi has knowledge of what happened to Saddam's WMD...like info that he sent it to Syria. That would pretty much stick a fork in the left-wing for the next 20 years.

Actually, Krazy Kadaffi after seeing the Shock and Awe being delivered to Iraq, sent out feelers that he didn't want to be aligned with the Islamofascists any more. He preferred to be aligned with the African countries.
I'm sure that what closed this deal was what was in $oddomite's briefcase. So we now have the Reformed and Kuddly Krazi Kaddafi.

I have been to Lockerbie...such a peaceful little place. It was hard to imagine what happened there. The Brits deserve a lot of the credit on the events of today. Thank you-

Reflect on what Clinton accomplished in 8 years, and what Bush has accomplished in 3 years.

Silly. That was when Dennis Kucinich wrote them a letter promising them a tofu sandwich and a visit from Father Twilight if they handed over their WMD!

I think we just found THE campaign refrain of 2004.

Did Jim Baker have anything to do with this. He was overseas with a brief case,,someone said the funniest thing about him,,that he was the kind of man who never went to any foreign country without a big briefcase full of cash!! Changed my tagline for the Brits too, we all need pro British taglines

I haven't read through the whole thread... but I guess he just didn't want to end up like Saddam part 2.
This is great news and definitive proof that GW's plan is working. We just have to hope and pray that no idiot gets in in 2008 and "rolls back" all the progress that George Bush had made in eliminating terrorism...
Such roll backs will be made for the sake of of "diversity" and "cultural understanding," of course. and Oh, yeah, for the sake of "reigning in American imperialism."
Colin Powell had a great answer once for people who complain about American Imperialism--I'm paraphrasing, but he said something like "the only soil we have ever asked for in the 20th century is enough to bury the bodies of our solidiers fighting for your freedom."
It was a great statement, and very true.
