"US 'DEFEATED' (IN AFGHANISTAN) SAYS TAPE (NEW LYING OSAMA TAPE)
SKY NEWS ^ | 12/19/03

A new tape recording believed to be the voice of Osama bin Laden's right-hand man, claims the US has been defeated in Afghanistan.

The audio tape, said to be of Ayman al-Zawahri, was aired on the Qatar-based al Jazeera network.

The voice said the terror group was chasing Americans everywhere, including the United States.

"America has been defeated (by) our fighters despite all its military might, its weaponry...With Gods help we are still chasing Americans and their allies everywhere, including their homeland,"said the speaker.

Zawahri's warning came as a US intelligence official said authorities were studying a terror threat to New York City and were "very concerned" by the volume of threats to US interests at home and overseas.

It also comes days after NATO chief Lord George Robertson warned members of the transatlantic alliance to "wake up" and bolster support for a NATO-led peacekeeping force in Afghanistan, or face failure.

The United States leads a 12,000-strong force in Afghanistan after a US-led 2001 invasion ousted the hardline Taliban which gave shelter to al Qaeda, blamed for the September 11 attacks on the United States.

Taliban and al Qaeda militants are still active in the southeast of the country.

Any audio tape released by these guys (Ayman al-Zawahri/OBL) is significant. In the past, these tapes have usually been followed by an AQ strike somewhere in the world.

"We have defeated the Americans in Afghanistan...which we have thoroughly demonstrated by cutting our support for the Taliban in half and redeploying to Iraq...er...yeah, that's right."

What no implication this time that OBL is still alive?

Maybe they, unlike the demoncRATs, are getting tired of that lie.

They'd do better spending the money on Howard Dean campaign adds. America's Democratic Party may be the last group of people on Earth with a vested interest in rooting for Osauma Bin Ladin.
