thanks for your confidence. I think this pics shows how massive the short towers are. See the resemblance in massing and repetition to the WFC towers?

Yep. All they need are those seafoam green dome caps, or whatever the hell their official/technical names are...

If they're smart, they can use the energy from the wind turbines to halt building "sway" in the wind. All they have to do is control the pitch of the wind generators in coordination with any sway in order to dampen it. Wind generators produce an incredible force against the wind that could be controlled this way.

True, it would reduce the energy you get from them. But so what. That's minimal anyway.

For comparison, look at the old SOM David Childs tower design from the first round of site plans. He has been pushing the trasparent top all along.

Doubly fugly.

Rebuild them and include huge memorials in the sky lobbies. I'll work in them.

Not as cool as the building you would have designed? Personally I liked the Neo-classic design which was rejected last year which recalled the skyline of NYC in the 40's. A series of spires 40-60 stories tall.

I like the design very much. My cup is half-full, not half empty.

The architect's rendering shows a strong but graceful building. It fits extremely well into the skyline. The committee chose well, and with the tweaking finished, it will be something for New Yorkers and all Americans to be proud of.

Couple years from now, many folks will be standing in line to once again visit the tower, view the magnificent NYC panorama, and pay tribute to the honored lost souls of 9/11.

I guess these NY assholes never learn.

Hey, cool. You have a hat trick. Your last three posts on the forum contain the word asshole. But on your "in forum" search you are sitting on 13 (number of times you have used the word) so you might want to use it again to get off that unlucky number.

I wonder how long it would stay the world's tallest building? That Millenium Tower is slated to be 2700 feet tall. Don't know if they're ever going to build it though.

Looks like one of those ugly, spikey, granite monoliths the Department of Energy is going to plant on top of nuclear storage sites to scare off future generations.
