If a Republican borrowed $850K on his home, the liberals in the "mainstream" press would be running stories about how rich they were.

Ohhh, really? How about the Breck Girl Edwards? He cranked up his own campaign with his own money before his trial lawyer buddies kicked in...and he's even farther behind Sharpton than Kerry.

When two US Senators are trailing a Harlem extortionist, you know the Democrat party has hit bottom.

I like the idea that unless some of the 500 million fortune of his wife was transferred into his name before he began his campaign he cannot access it. Given that this money came from a Republican originally I hope he cannot.

He maybe mortgaged the home as an additional write off, but a near billionaire hardly NEEDED to mortgage his property to come up with that money.
The mortgage was also for dramatic effect.
