Based on my own observations, the exact opposite tends to be true.
Well, that's anecdotal evidence. That hypothesis has to be put to the empirical test.
With that said, though, there is evidence to support your observations -- but only when women are at a certain time of the month.
In a recent string of studies, researchers are finding that women tend to be attracted to hyper-masculine rebels during ovulation. But when they are not ovulating, they tend to go for the more feminine type, who presumably are more likely to stick around. In another related line of research, it was found that a large sample of women were more likely to cheat during ovulation.
So...What might this mean? It seems women are boning the masculine guys, who knock them up, and then some poor schmuck feminine guy gets duped into taking care of the other guy's gene-pool. Evolution is brutal.

Well, if you find anything out there, let me know. I'd be interested to hear about it.

Based on my own observations, the exact opposite tends to be true. Check out female written eroctica/romantica....
Or many (most) of the romance novels...
The outstanding theme (besides the obvious, of course)....
Is the guy is committed, stuck, theirs, totally devoted....whether by emotion, magic, genetics or situation.
Without this consistant theme, these books won't sell (so say the editors).

I understand the romantic ideal, however when it comes to "getting it on" I have often found that many if not most women are attracted to guys that are not especially nice to them.

I agree, I see lots of young girls who act this way, but as a woman matures, either physically or emotionally (and I am not referring to geriatrics ;) ) she often develops her self esteem and her expectations from the opposite sex.
IOW, I won't put up with treatment today that I would have when I was an insecure youngun'.

Have you searched with keywords more in the following orders?
MRI SEX-LINKED "BRAIN DIFFERENCES" CHILDREN
PET SEX-LINKED "BRAIN DIFFERENCES" CHILDREN
MRI "BRAIN DIFFERENCES" CHILDREN SEX-LINKED
PET "BRAIN DIFFERENCES" CHILDREN SEX-LINKED
MRI "BRAIN AREA" VISUAL CHILDREN SEX-LINKED
PET "BRAIN AREA" VISUAL CHILDREN SEX-LINKED
etc.
In my experience, the order of the keywords searched can make a lot of difference.

Men have to be ready to mate the moment the woman is willing; it pays to be easily aroused in this case.

I think it's no nagging or guilt trips, letting him buy whatever he wants with no hassling, and lots and lots of hummers. It's a formula with a great deal of appeal !

There's another rather new method other than MRI or PET scanning . . . but I can't think of the name of it.
Would enjoy a summary of what you find.
Thanks,
