So the historic buildings at Yellowstone must be destroyed in their view, and every gas station within a good day's drive must be shutdown to further this goal.

As for the general populace being comprised of Phillistines....we can blame that on 40 years of liberal erosion of family, the resposibility of parents to instill morals and respect in their children (as opposed to the schools/welfare state), self-restraint, personal responsibility, general respect for others, and reverence towards nature as the magnificence of God's creation: a gift to be treated with gratitude and careful stewardship, as well as fully enjoyed by all.....so very sad and so very ironic. They have created, through their very paganism, the biggest threat to that which they claim to love--an irreverent and reckless society.

Plus, when you muck up the wilderness with signs, posts, campsites and firepits everywhere, it already looks "used" and sullied, so most people lose a bit of their respect and awe right on the spot, consciously or not.
