The war was about the expansion of terrorism in the Middle East and the need to stop it as this area is critical to the stability of the world economy, i.e. oil.
Getting a democracy in Iraq is a good first step. It will send a strong message to other nations in that area who support terrorism. Over the years, it will also help promote democracy in other nations as the people see how capitalism works. Iraq is a wealthy country, their citizens stand to benefit greatly.
Look, no matter what the jerk who wrote this article intended, in a sense he is right in that Israel's and US interests run parallel to each other.
As we advance our interests (advancing democratic concepts amoung the rag heads) we help and advance Israel's interest (turning the medieval rag heads away from their "death cult" mentality-increasing Israeli security) thereby creating a more peaceful middle East.
So I repeat: If it advances Israels interest to advance our own-who gives a crap?
