I've been sitting here thinking about his statement for awhile and I just realized how ignorant and harmful it was to the country.

Dubya used a classic apologist translation of Matthew 7. Why? Was he trying to appeal to the left or to the liberaltarians out there. I'm not sure. One thing I do know is that he needs to reread his Bible and not listen to Dick Cheney about this subject. Sawyer baited him and then she trapped him. I for one am not happy that he said this.

When I heard he was doing an interview with her I was disappointed. I agree, mush-mouth spoutings about logs in eyes are never said with the right understanding. Or rarely.

As though Jesus' message and example was to let evil run rampant, while apologizing to it!

My wife's first reaction was to turn to me and say "you can tell that our President is a very "young" Christian and is not schooled in his faith. We really need to pray for him".

I wish she was a Freeper...she lives her life vicariously
through me I guess:)

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church

1660 The marriage covenant, by which a man and a woman form with each other an intimate communion of life and love, has been founded and endowed with its own special laws by the Creator. By its very nature it is ordered to the good of the couple, as well as to the generation and education of children. Christ the Lord raised marriage between the baptized to the dignity of a sacrament (cf. CIC, can. 1055 § 1; cf. GS 48 § 1).

1625 The parties to a marriage covenant are a baptized man and woman, free to contract marriage, who freely express their consent; "to be free" means:

- not being under constraint;

- not impeded by any natural or ecclesiastical law.

Good for Bush! He's taking a strong stand on solid principles without resorting to demagoguery.

Agreed... he handled that very well :-)
