I know that this is the 'common wisdom', but it is also very sad that people work so hard to get out of jury duty, particularly those of us who can do something to break down the power of government.

I would love to serve on a jury, but I haven't been called in over 20 years.

Excellent question -- and a frightening one. Our system of government is/was our stock-in-trade. If it becomes no better than the systems we are trying to replace, it'll be time to bring all of our troops home.
