The real story isn't that Texans where annihilated in San Antonio, the real story is that they bought time with their lives to enable Sam Houston to prepare for the battle of San Jacinto - where the Mexican Army was routed and removed from Texas forever.

THAT'S the real story of the Alamo. A few hundred men held off thousands of seasoned army troops and their sacrifice planted the seeds of a Texan victory.
