Evil? The Vatican is "evil"? What was our double dealing with Iraq and Sadaam for years? Was it evil? The Vatican is against war- all war except just cause wars. Iraq does not even begin to meet that criteria. Or are you one of those "armegeddon types" who hopes for more bloodshed in the Middle East to validate your cheap snake handling, tamborine banging, and "tounge speaking" circus tent faith?
