WASHINGTON -- The United States welcomes lots of new citizens each year. Last week, Miguel Arias raised his right hand and became one of them. But while one of many, the 25-year-old graduate of Mendota High School is also one of a kind. He's done a unique job in helping other immigrants, and he earned accolades in the official journal of Congress, the Congressional Record.

I know it sounds like a stretch, but I'd bet if these reporters would look reeeal hard they'd also be able to find stories about
native born Americans working hard, overcoming odds & succeeding to provide a life for themselves & their families in these Uinted States to bring tears to your eyes.
I guess those kinds of stories just don't rate the column space.
