"I thought 'All Your Bases Are Belong To Us' came from a Japanese cartoon."

"All your base (not bases) are belong to us" came from the mistranslated introduction of the Sega Genesis side-scrolling shooter (not to be confused with first-person shooter ala Doom and Quake) Zero Wing. The game was terrible in its own right, but the hilarious introduction has existed for years. It was popularized by a Flash cartoon which doctored a bunch of pictures inserting the phrase to techno music where the phrase was constantly spit out by the computerized voice.

So there you go. Personally, I'm waiting for Final Fantasy Tactics' "I got a good feeling!" to catch on with self-help books...

Oh yeah, DUmmies--hah!
