As in years before, technology companies promised to ship products in 2003 that simply didn't materialize -- just like Iraq's weapons of mass destruction.

Unlike WMDs, however, these products actually might have benefited humankind by enriching, educating or entertaining us. At least that's what Silicon Valley's ever-optimistic press releases and pre-release demos had us believe.

Because they are a bunch of stuck-up idiots who push their nihilistic cultural agenda with matching technology (cybersex, etc).
