In a meeting that erupted into a shouting match, members of the Ward 8 Democrats voted yesterday to table a motion to remove the group's first vice president from office for calling a new member "poor white trash."
Eugene Dewitt Kinlow, president of the political organization, read aloud a statement disassociating the group from the slur used by Mary Cuthbert at a meeting last month.
"These comments are embarrassing," Kinlow said. "Our party welcomes everyone. We are aware there are increasing tensions between newcomers . . . and blacks and whites in our ward, as in other wards across the city."
But instead of defusing the controversy over Cuthbert's comments, yesterday's meeting produced more tension.

A microcosm of what liberals are all about--especially the double-standard they enjoy when it comes to hurling racist insults at whites. DC wants to put itself on the political map by having their own 'rat primary on Jan. 13, in hopes of stealing the thunder from New Hampshire and Iowa. But this is typical of the disaster that ensues when DC politics is involved.

"White people don't understand our issues."Of course.

LOL! Exactly! The whole problem wrapped up in one neat sentence. Of course, the reverse can never be true, according to the Jacksons and Sharptons of the world. If anybody in FReeperland has ever wondered why DC is such a 'rathole, outside of its great tourist destinations, this article tells you everything you need to know.

Cuthbert called Burgard "poor white trash" and "poor white trailer trash." In an interview after yesterday's meeting, Cuthbert said she regrets her statements and has decided to apologize to Burgard, who is the first white person to serve on the group's executive committee.
No racism here...

"
"These comments are embarrassing,' Kinlow said."Nonsense.
"Embarring" is not a word found anywhere in the Liberal-Socialist 'Rat lexicon any more than the word, "shame."
"Our party welcomes everyone. We are aware there are increasing tensions between newcomers...and blacks and whites in our ward, as in other wards across the city."
HA!!
All except white supremicists.
I clearly remember a photo op Clinton held once where a clown with Nazi swastikas tatooed on his arm was in the mix of Clinoccio's adoring fans.
Naturally, the guy was hustled away, beyond the lenses of Clinton's propaganda ministry goons snapping pics!
To this very day I smile when I think of it & I think is one of those priceless moments you had to be there to truly appreciate.
...on a par with Ron Brown's funeral.

The above article is reason #489 why D.C. should NEVER become a state. It would elevate these "Democrats" to offices of Senator and Representative with the power to vote and fund their prejudices.

Lockridge said that he understood Cuthbert's frustration about Burgard's nomination and that the group should empower black people economically and politically. "Why would you appoint a white person to be head of your legislative and issues committee?" Lockridge said. "White people don't understand our issues."
This is the best part of the article and it is towards the end. Exactly what the democrat party is about - "empowering" certain minority groups. Not doing anything for the country, but pandering to different demographics.

Being a black Democrat means never having to say you're sorry.

"This is not a personal attack," he said. "This is about principle. The Democratic Party has always been about civil rights and human rights."Someone needs to read up on the history of the racist, segregationist, lynching, bombing, Klan-friendly, Democrat Party!!!

When will the constituents learn that empowerment is devoid of meaning when uttered by Democrats?

When will constituents learn that empowerment isn't something that you get from a political party, but something that you give yourself?
