LONDON - Two dozen people suffered burns to their faces, hands and arms in a suspected acid attack at a pub in Bristol, southwestern England, police said Monday.
Officers arrested a 25-year-old woman, who was injured in the early Sunday morning incident, in connection with the incident, Avon and Somerset Police said.
A police spokesman said it appeared that a "corrosive substance" was thrown on 24 people. The victims received treatment at two hospitals, and most were later released. Police gave no further details.

Drinkers hurt in pub acid attack
More than 20 people have
The incident happened in the Inkerman pub in the St Pauls area of Bristol in the early hours of Sunday.
The 24 victims were taken to hospital suffering burns from a "suspected corrosive substance" and the effects of inhaling fumes from the substance.
A 25-year-old woman, who was seriously injured in the incident, is helping police with their inquiries.
Police say the injuries were mainly to people's faces, hands and arms, and that the majority of victims were released from hospital after treatment.
Avon and Somerset Police
It is believed that four people, including the woman who was arrested, are still receiving treatment at Frenchay Hospital's specialist burn centre.
Paul Gainey, Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "A person came into the pub and threw some sort of corrosive substance.
"Some people in the pub were quite badly burnt, and a 25-year-old woman has been arrested, but she has not yet been questioned."
The owner of the free house, who did not want to be named, said: "I think it happened on the dance floor but none of the bar staff saw anything."
