Though it was all so predictable, it was still shocking to see it played out by the book. A black-garbed, clenched-jaw Couric, desperately trying to put the worst possible spin on every aspect of the capture of Saddam Hussein.

Katie The Perky Burqa never fails to meet our lowest expectations. It is the primary insanity of our age that vapid media narcissists like Couric are paid millions to propagate destructive nonsense and, worse, that this carries the weight of unimpeachable authority for a sizable segment of the population.
The unrestrained power of the mass media, and the recklessness with which it is wielded, are this era's counterpart to such historical follies as witch-hunting, human sacrifice, and the divine right of kings.
In 100 years, people will look back at the power of the Hollywood/Madison Avenue Cultural Axis and ask how anyone could have been so stupid.

Why do you torture yourself so? I could not pick perky Katy out of a crowd of three. The only reason I know she's perky is because Rush says so.

Note that the mainstream press is universally ignoring Arab reaction, which is either rejoicing or, like Palestine, vowing to continue the struggle. The press does not want to show GWB to have any Arab support, especially in Iraq, and they certainly don't want to show the hatred their beloved Palestinians have for us.

Another excellent report on the truly disgusting demeanor of the Couric bitch. That woman might as well tattoo "democrat" on her forehead.

Great, great report. I was going to watch, but I didn't want to spoil the elation from yesterday's outstanding news. From the archives and one of my personal favorites, here is the obligatory Katie song ---
MIDI - TELL LAURA I LOVE HER
Our Katie Couric, that perky one
You wont believe what shes done
Just look and youll see
She shows her butt right on TV
We are sure it will win the sweeps
Though, of course, it gives you the creeps
Children all watch
theyre filled with glee
Its Katies colonoscopy
The nurses are screaming
a nightmare theyre dreaming
Their fear they cannot restrain
The doctor just found Katies brain
So Katies now the butt of their jokes
Inside her each doctor pokes
They cannot believe their eyes
The viewers getting a big surprise
They say she has made history
Something like this youll never see
One screams out, I cant concur
Most Democrats are just like her
The nurses are screaming
a nightmare theyre dreaming
Their fear they cannot restrain
The doctor just found Katies brain
They stitch her up
its finally done
Shell take time off out in the sun
People say each time they pass
Hey, we know your heads in your *ss
The nurses are screaming
a nightmare theyre dreaming
Their fear they cannot restrain
The doctor just found Katies brain
The nurses are screaming
a nightmare theyre dreaming
Their fear they cannot restrain
The doctor just found Katies brain

Katy's getting up there, isn't she?
I think maybe she is due to be Lundened out of there soon.
I only wish Bryant Gumbel was still hanging around (is he still in showbiz?) because he was always good for a laugh. No wait - - I'm thinking of Barney Gumbel. Doh....!

Yesterday, I noticed that even many in the press were smiling. I figured Colic wouldn't be one of them. She probably felt as though she'd just learned of the death of her best friend. The poor dear.

I hardly see what all the fuss is about--the army followed all the ideals the left wanted the to do. There was no taser, gunfire or clubbing of Saddam by the MP's. We took him out of his horribly squalid living conditions and gave him a nice place to stay.
Free medical treatment--free food(And he won't have to cook it). We got him off the cold dirt floor (which can't be good for an old man) and put him in a warm, safe spot where he's free from potential threats on his life. He has a bed and sanitary conditions greatly improved. AND HE GOT IT ALL AT THE GOVERNMENT'S EXPENSE!!!

You hit the nail on the head, she was definitely in mourning she made it obvious to everyone. How can anyone watch her? NBC execs are idiots to allow her to berate The Today Show with her liberal views and bring down the remaining somewhat partial anchors ( yes Katie is not the only anchor, I know she will find that hard to believe).

Our gal not wearing black at the Unicef Goodwill Gala Celebrating 50 years of Celebrity Advocacy Dec. 3rd 2003 She was awarded
The Danny Kaye Humanitarian Award
Katie Couric, co-host of NBC's Today, was honored by UNICEF with The Danny Kaye Humanitarian Award for her pioneering work as a celebrity advocate. Couric, who recently encouraged millions of Today show viewers to Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, has successfully fused her philanthropic, personal and professional interests and become a highly-regarded advocate for children. Couric received the award from NBC Entertainment President Jeff Zucker.
"If I am fortunate to share any quality with Danny Kaye, it's a sense of responsibility," said Couric. "I am certain I have not changed the world, but hopefully with my efforts, lives can be changed."
