New Jersey couldn't pour piss out of a boot with instructions written on the heel. What a stupid, sorry lot of nanny-ized bedwetters.

Why do they all move out to the sticks, and then expect the bears (& hunters) to change their behavior to suit them?

The majority of the kills occurred in Sussex County 229 I'd like to know exactly where they were killed. I live in Sussex County and I like seeing bears. I think most were taken in Vernon and in Wawayanda, but I'd like to know. I am glad they only got 328--which is less than they expected. My wife and I were rooting for the bears all week. Glad it's over.

Why do they all move out to the sticks, and then expect the bears (& hunters) to change their behavior to suit them? There hasn't been a bear hunt in NJ in 30 years. The change is the hunt, not the lack of one. And everyone who lives up here has to modify their behavior due to bears, though some don't bother. Where you keep your garbage, where you put birdfeeders, how sturdy the doors to the house are--all considerations in bear country.

I have always heard that "Bears $hit in the woods."
Guess it is now "Bears $hit in New Jersey."
Of course, NJ could just ship them all to the Kennedy compound where they would all drown. Or ship them by air to Arkansas where they will all die in plane crashes. Yet save one to send to Her Hinness Hilberbeast in Washington. It will be found in Fort Marsey Park, dead of a self-inflicted gun shot to the head.

In the short run, perhaps. In the long run, the hunt has been around a lot longer than suburbanites.

"In my mind, this hunt didn't address the bear management issue one iota, and all it did was upset a lot of people who are now more committed than ever to not having one next year."Never underestimate the reach of the "enlightened" when pulling something out of their bums to defend a failed nostrum.

Now if they would only do something about those damned fishermen and their boats.... They do. Some lakes are electric motor only (I prefer those lakes), some are gas and electric, some restrict personal watercraft, some don't. Trout fishing is regulated according to stocking schedules. Certain rivers are artificial lure only. There are creel limits statewide. All of this is regulated. Oh yeah, and you need to get a license and a trout stamp to fish legally. I wish they'd stock more bass and less trout, but that's life.

If the bear population increases to the point where they start killing and eating children, will you root for them then?

By the way, when the keep-everything russians are fishing, I root for the fish. I wish all of NJ bass fishing was catch and release only. Our lakes get a lot of pressure.

Interestingly, it appears I am the only one on this thread who actually lives in an area affected by this bear hunt. Why don't you outsiders mind your business?

BTW, I see your wife is yet another proof for my contention that despite New Jersey's reputation, it features some of the most beautiful women in the world.
