I didn't mean to imply that you had. Lots of other comments questioned the report, so as soon as I heard something on "real" media - I posted it. Unfortunately for folks in this area, a missing kid doesn't hold as much importance to news folks as the big Redskins v. Cowboys rivalry and the icy weather. I just watched probably 5 minutes of "on scene reporting" by newsbabes standing at major intersections in DC area talking about black ice; and nothing about a seventeen year old girl missing since Friday.

It is always frustrating to think someone is out there somewhere that could use someone's help and all any of us can do is sit around and watch the story unfold. It is frustrating that all we can do is commisserate with one another about it and 'hope' while full well knowing that these stories usually do not turn out the way we would like.
Oddly worse than that (for me anyway) is how you hear about stories like this that you never ever find out in the end what happened. Like that 'Alice' girl that went missing and they caught those two guys but as far as I know, they have never found her. Lady Pilgrim was on this thread earlier and I remember following that story hoping all along it would turn out ok. Her situation was one of the rare ones where her loved one was found.
