So, why don't you give the readers on this thread some information?
What did you hear?
Where is WMAL?

1. I didn't have much more to tell, other than it's not a hoax. I'll do better next time.

2. Just a short blurb on the hourly radio news update, that I didn't catch in it's entirety because I had just turned the radio on. I heard and recognized the girl's name, and I heard the mom speaking about where the daughter was last seen.

3. WMAL AM-630 is DC area radio station. Leesburg and Reston, VA are DC suburbs.

When 11 o'clock news update is read, I'll write more detail. Sorry about not providing more info earlier, but all the "hoax" speculation here (and having a couple of teenagers myself) led me to post what little I did have right then, to stop the hoax talk. I see that has still not yet stopped.

Sorry, but no update from radio news. The icy weather and the Redskins loss took precedence over a missing teenager.

Listening with the other ear to the TV news. They led off with Saddam story and now 'Skins loss...

I never said it was a hoax.
God forbid.
I do think it is strange that the person who started this
thread with a "headline" that says "OUR CHILD IS MISSING"
along with a story that reads in 'third person' not like
it is actually the poster's child but like it is a story
they have copied and pasted from some unknown source and
then the orignal poster never even came back to the thread
to say where they got the information in the first place.
