Baghdad - An Army commander who threatened to kill an Iraqi detainee for refusing to answer questions avoided court-martial when his superior decided to let him retire and pay a $5,000 fine, the Army said yesterday.

Lt. Col. Allen West, 42, was relieved of his post and ordered sent from Iraq to his base in Texas after being found guilty of aggravated assault and communicating a threat

About time for Col. West to retire from the military and maybe enter the congress. How about moving to the Southeast of Florida there Colonel. I know I'd vote for you, a true American hero.

How about some one set up a place to send contributions to Col. west to cover his Faux Fine.
Then let's go about removing the Princely benefits from (ALL) our Senators and Congressmen who have allowed this travesty to happen.
Give them Social Security and Medicare if they qualify, No More No Less than the avderage Citizens who have paid the Bills in Onerous Opressive taxes.
Up to and Including Bush and Rumsfeld, people are not showing proper respect for Brave men and women who risk and give up their lives to protect us and protect foreign people from opressive Governments.
After 20 years of service this "MAN" (Col. West) is thrown on the scrapheap of ignominy by people who can't carry his water.

Laura Ingraham announced she was going to start a Fine Fund for the West family, so her listeners could chip in and pay the fine for this great American hero. Laura chipped in $500 to start it off.

Then a caller from Telluride, CO called in and said he was going to give the whole $5000. He said, "I can't think of a better thing to do with this money, especially at Christmas time."

I'm so disgusted by the Dems, the media, and the Pentagon PC brass trying to "pussify" our military. We need them to be tough, mean, and get the job done. They should NOT have to worry about hurting someone's feelings.
