CC might not have done it. Someone else could have used his/her initials. You wouldn't think someone would put their own in knowing they were going to be fired. CC also might stand for something else besides someones name.
I was just going by the article:
"According to ADVO, the company that printed the advertisement, a graphic artist working on the ad had left his desk for a moment, and a co-worker with the initials C.C. changed the text on the ad."
