Giving away the store [Schwarzenegger]

The outcome suggests that Schwarzenegger is not as good a negotiator as he thinks he is, or at least those skills weren't evident in this round. He was smart to demand more than he needed and then scale back from there. And he was smart to abandon the concept of a formula-driven spending cap. But in the end, he swung too far in the other direction. This looks as if his only bottom line was ending the negotiations with a deal, any deal. And now, to make it worse, he has begun to try to sell this package as more than it is. He should just admit the truth: this is the best he could get from the Democrats. It's a harmless first step but not nearly enough to achieve the goal he set for himself and the state. More work will have to be done.

Unfathomable to me is Schwarzenegger's promise to not even support a citizen initiative to impose a spending cap. He really wimped out on that one. His weakness means we the people will just have to take the state back one initiative at a time, and without his help.

Yeah...we'd have been much better off with bustamante...the only other candidate who could have won.

The inability of the average TomBot to understand that is amazing.

Uh huh...and the GOP is doing something drastically different in DC than was done in California?

Unless you didn't notice, the GOP is for BIG gov't. too!

Unless "We The People" take back the Republic (not likely) the GOP will take us to the same destination as the DemoCraps, but at a slower progression - total moral, economic and spiritual bankruptcy.

You Accumulate By Not Spending" Rome was not built in a day and this problem won't go away tomorrow; now the Bill Collectors are hammering at your Gates!

Maybe that's why the Kali-sheeple elected Conan da Barbarian to fight this fight, too bad they've already outlawed swords in Kali and only outlaws carry them now. ;-)

I continue to wonder if any of this stuff matters in the long run because the well is dry and Arnold and the Republicans will never let the scumbag Democrats raise taxes, not in a million years. Arnold promised.

****BINGO****

Notice that all but South40 got the urgent message to immediately return to the RNC headquarters for a new strategy session.

South40 must have been badly hungover after his attendance at the "victory" party Friday night.
