I hear a lot of people complaining about Howard Dean, but what I've not heard is a single person question his character. When I look him in the face I don't see someone I would think of as being involved, for example, in the murder of others for political purposes - which elevates him in my esteem FAR above such rifraff as the previous occupants of the White House.

So, I find my self wondering if the Democrats are complaining about Dean because he's perhaps not sufficiently corrupt, and the Republicans complaining because perhaps he's the most electable(??)

Despite some factual misstatements and a misspelling or two, this isn't too bad for amateur analysis.

The writer underestimates Dean. Just like Clinton was widely underestimated when he ran against Spook Daddy.

This article really got me thinking... What DOES Dean offer? Then I wondered - What does Bush offer?

I've made a handy chart which illustrates...

What the Candidates Have to Offer

GEORGE W BUSH

HOWARD DEAN

War in Iraq

No War in Iraq

Previously endorsed by NRA

"A" rating from NRA

Abortion is legal under Bush

Abortion would be legal under Dean

Pro “War on Drugs”

Pro “War on Drugs”

Signed massive Medicare entitlement into law

Supports universal health care

Signed campaign finance reform into law

Supports campaign finance reform

Conservative judges are blocked

Conservative judges won't be nominated

Cut taxes twice as president

Cut taxes thrice as governor

15 Billion Funding to Fight AIDS in Africa

Pledged 30 Billion to fight international AIDS

Supports USA PATRIOT Act

Opposes USA PATRIOT Act

Democrat Authored education bill

Democrat authored education bill

Affirmative Action

Affirmative Action

Lame weak-willed GOP

Possible strong GOP opposition

Constitution largely ignored under Bush

Constitution will be largely ignored under Dean

Anyone may feel free to copy and distribute the chart, if they wish...

Big smile on my face at the prospect of Dean in the fall. Let's just hope he doesn't disintegrate before the primaries are over.
