Oh, there's a good explanation for the shortages. From what I understand around ten million doses were tossed out last year because no-one wanted them. So vaccine makers cut production by a similar amount this year. They're in this to make a profit. If folks want to pay for the government to buy unused doses, then that might be a solution. But the vaccine makers aren't going to do it for free, and shouldn't be expected to.
