Lt. Col. Allen B. West was fined $5,000 by his commanding officer yesterday, closing a case in which the Army charged him with assault for firing his gun to frighten an Iraqi detainee into disclosing a planned ambush.

Neal Puckett, Col. West's civilian attorney, said the officer plans to return to Fort Hood, Texas, where he expects to be granted a full-benefits retirement this spring after a 20-year Army career.

That fine was $4,999.00 too much, and he should have been given a medal.

Mere chump-change. I see a million dollar book advance in his immediate future.

"That would have been true Army leadership. Those type of leaders are still in the Army. It's just that they have been subverted by job-justifying lawyers who seek to play a larger role in the command."

They have been subverted by job-justifying-WOMEN lawyers. From what I've read, that JAG office over there is full of women (phoney soldiers). I'm willing to bet those "anonymous" soldiers who complained about LTC West's tactics are really those two female officers who got their feelings hurt when West got the information he needed in minutes after they'd been p**sy footing with the assassin for hours: they were showed up. All the malcontents in this case trying to justify their jobs over there have been women: the inept "interrogators", the JAG officer who filed the complaint, and the prosecutor. This is their contribution to the war effort -thanks gals, with friends like you all...we now have our enemies from within. This case illustrates how gender politics is destroying and weakening our military and nation.

Anyone up for a Fundraiser?

Wait a week or two, until Colonel West is back in this country. More to follow.

Now, for those of you have seen the extended version of The Two Towers:

Did Captain Faramir of the Ithilien company of the Gondor Army go to far in allowing his men to beat the critical information out of Smeagol/Gollum?

Ditto.

"With the case closed, civilian defense attorney Puckett harshly criticized the Army."

Carpenters shouldn't bake cakes and civilian attorneys shouldn't get involved with military matters.
