Indeed. Jude Wanniski is such a flaming Marxist, he is to the left of Lenin. He claimed in his columns, along with an expatriate lefty fired (retired) from the CIA...Stephen Pelletier...that Saddam was innocent of the claim that he had gassed the Kurds...he said the Iranians did it.

Meanwhile, after the Kurds gained Coalition-backed autonomy before Operation Iraqi Freedom...the Kurds got a hold of major stashes of documents showing it was in fact Saddam that did it. The Kurds had been allies of the Iranians, and the Iranians had ZERO motive to attack their allies.

So after being thoroughly debunked, do we ever see anything like an APOLOGY from Wanniski or Pelletier for their grievous mistake? No. Not even a scintilla. They just go onto to the next wild accusations against the U.S.

If we find a huge stockpile of Saddam's hidden WMD's...these guys will, without batting an eye, trivialize it and go onto the next 'thing'.
