I'm sorry to have to report that one of our own Freepers, TrappedInLiberalHell, has passed away. His profile is HERE
I met Chris this past summer and found him to be a brilliant young man, who unfortunately carried around a lot of painful psychological troubles. He wrote few posts here, but was an active and clever noter, and a very sweet young man.

His final post was on 11/28. He was posting quite frequently up until then. Sad that we could not help him more : ((

I remember him, we would echange messages on the forum and in private. I liked him. Sad news, indeed.

"Chris really loved Free Republic, and his next of kin has requested that I let all of you know what you meant to him. He was fiercely Republican, and found a true home here."
He meant a lot to us, too. Seriously--I remember reading his posts; when I saw his name on the "recent posts" I was always interested in what he had to say.
Please tell his next of kin that he will be very missed here.
To: EggsAckley
I remember him, too. Prayers up for him...

This is such a shame. We traded a few emails about his tomato gardening. I found him to be genuine and friendly, a class act.
Prayers for him and his family.

"My name is Christopher Van Loon. I am a relative newcomer to the world of gardening, but in the past two years, I feel I've learned a lot and I hope to learn even more.
I built this page for beginners and experts alike. The experts may use it only as a gateway to the forum, which is fine, because the forum will be the heart of this web site. I promise to keep the site current, especially in the photo gallery and garden journal sections. In the coming weeks, I will add some tomato-related content, such as seed starting information, mulching options, and tomato support methods.
As for me, I'm 29 years old, and I work as a database programmer/analyst for a large bank. It can get stuffy in that office, and I know I'm looking forward to this gardening season!
Welcome to the site, and feel free to drop me an email at the following address:
vanloonc@yahoo.com. I check the forum several times per day, as well, so please feel free to stop by (click the 'Message Board' link at the top of the page, and the Home Grown Tomatoes Forum will load in a separate window).
Happy Gardening!
Chris"

This is sad. I remember his posts and he sounded depressed. I'm sorry to read of his death.

If we get the family's permission can we place Chris on the Freeper Memorial Wall?
