I know, this guy is a Leftie. But I myself wonder why there can't be more public respect show for the men and women in uniform who are dying in Iraq.

The Village Voice should go to the funerals and explain why they supported terrorists for so long that this became necessary.

Obviously, Dubya can't go to all the funerals. I understand he makes a phone call to the families of the deceased. He has visited many of the wounded soldiers in the hospital.

I'm not sure whether or not this is an issue to anyone who isn't already trying to smear Dubya.

Hillary, I've heard it said, didn't go to any 9-11 funerals. Do you know if that's true?

That is true. She went to a memorial service or two, but no funerals. Same goes for Bill Clinton and troops killed while he was in office. Memorial service for USS Cole, but no funerals.

So Bush SHOULDN'T go to military funerals? "Kill the messenger" doesn't address the issue.

Yes it does. The village Voice is full of traitors in desperate need of a good butt-kicking.

So Bush should skip the funerals too? I'm just asking. If so, for consistency sake, I guess we shouldn't criticize Hillary on the funeral thing.

Does that mean I can't post any Nat Hentoff articles from Village Voice, on the importance of free speech and the right to life?

Well, should Bush go to any funerals of Americans who died in Iraq, or not?

That is not for me to decide. I just pray that our domestic enemies within get their comeuppance.

This is a non-issue. But I can tell you that Bush is waiting for Dean to bring this up. Bush has met three times in rather tearful sessions with the families of fallen soldiers.

Schanberg is simply being a partisan asshole. I guess he's continuing in the long tradition of being surprised by the barbarism of our enemies.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Hillary didn't go to 9/11 funerals, so I guess it's ok.

Would you want the Secret Sevice to take over your loved one's funeral? This is a serious question.

Group Memorial services, you bet. Individual funerals, nope. If he can't go to them all, then going to just a few will only tick off somebody who didn't get a visit from him at their son's or daughter's service.

The VV staff is trying to smear the president, and if he did show up at a funeral or two, he'd be accused of "favoratism". Oy...

Did FDR attend the funeral of everyone killed in WWII?

Did either Truman or Eisenhower attend the funeral of every Korean War casualty?

Did Wilson attend the funeral of every WWI casualty?

Has this ever been an issue in the past?
