proportions of legals vs. illegals, please.
if it is a 3:1 or moredisparity b/n illegals and legals, then I think the rude characterization to which you object is valid as colloquial shorthand and above rebuke.

This is getting just frickin unbelievable. Give them free medical care, driver's licenses, social security benefits, subsidized education, voting rights, etc. We are all so pathetic for letting this continue. Give them the whole dam country and get it over with.

What is all the fuss about? All non-US residents retain full voting rights - in their countries of origin. They want to vote? By all means. Go to where they are citizens and vote. If they want to vote in US elections fine. Let them go back and come in legally, become residents, learn English, pay taxes, pass a citizenship test, assimilate and learn/obey the laws of the land like the rest of us. We are indeed a nation of immigrants. Legal immigrants who obeyed the laws and became citizens.
