President Bush, under fire from allies, said Thursday that countries which sent troops to Iraq should be entitled to share in the $18 billion in American-financed reconstruction projects while other nations are shut out.

Bush's policy effectively excludes countries such as Russia, France, Germany and Canada.

I know similar stories have been posted but this is the first I found with a Democratic response. They are digging themselves deeper and deeper.

Well, it doesn't surprise me that Bush would refrain from openly saying that Chretien is a liar, but I hope we will stick to our guns. It's a lesson that Canada needs.

If, to the contrary, Chretien is rewarded for his open perfidy, it will send the wrong message and put egg on the faces of Bush's Canadian supporters.

But Bush appeared to make a sharp distinction between countries that sent troops to Iraq and those that didn't. - damm right!

I'm a little on the fence with Canada. If they go ahead and send their paltry 300mil, then sure, they can bid on the contracts.

In the same vein, France, Germany and Russia are all free to contribute money and troops.

Its our Money.. get it.. the taxpayers can do whatever they want. I am waiting for the polls to show how many of the tax payers would like their hard earned dollars going to worthless Germany, Russia and France.

President Bush is playing this correctly. The only people who are whining are the RATS, their brothers in the lamestream media and the weasels who did not support us. I think the majority of Americans, even those who do not support President Bush, understand that American taxpayer money should go to those who work with us, not against us. What's to disagree with?
