BOYCOTT the charity. Give to the Salvation Army instead! I put a dollar in the pot in front of the grocery store the other day, and the scruffy looking bell ringer told me, "God bless you."
... I LIKE that !

Starting with Thanksgiving Week, I get an extra $20 to drop off in the various Kettles around town. The SA has a great toys for kids program, and we buy a couple of toys each year. PG&E has a program where you can donate money each month to the SA to help people to pay their electricity and gas bill.
The above donations are beyond our normal donations at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The Salvation Army gives us the best buy for our charity $'s across America.
Those who have an older car, truck or boat, might want to consider donating them to the Salvation Army. They will pick them up at your home or office via an appointment and do all the paper work.

Righto !!! The Salvation Army is the only organized charity that we donate to. Mrs. BL and I sponsor a local family at Thanksgiving and Christmas .. dinner for both times and presents at Christmas .. every year. That way, I know my donations aren't being eaten up by "administrative" costs.

OK, now I'd like to know how many of these folks who are eliminating the word "Christmas" from their functions are willing to go to work on 12/25 to show that they will not celebrate this religious event in any way, shape, or form nor risk offending non-Christians.
They want to wash their hands of anything Christian, but I bet they party hearty because of the "holy-day".
