I swam a bit up stream as one without that tradition from the Right (I was once really there, honestly), to get there.

Oh yeah, no denying it, my opinions and my life are informed by my Catholicism although I spent a good deal of time downstream from that ideal.

Are you saying that you were once a right libertarian?

No never really a libertarian, although I once believed in more libertarian applications than I do now. I was more of just a garden variety Goldwater Republican (although even then a bit on the wet side), although I did support the Civil Rights Act, I am proud to say, at the grand old age of 13. With the slow passage of time, I have become more comfortable with notions of redistribution, up to a point. And I have become more comfortable with social security, which I now endorse as a hopeless statist. But Torie should be taxed on every penny of it he receives that is in excess of what he put in (in other words, he should pay for the interest factor). Heck, perhaps Torie should pay taxes on it all.
