I blame the the SCOTUS for not defending the 1st ammendment, almost everyone thought parts of this bill would be struck down

The equal blame must be placed on Congress and the White House who also had a shot at striking down this bill and chose not to do so.

Very true, I do understand why McConnell and Bush thought the free speech portion of the bill would be struck down when challenged in the Supreme Court. I believe they gambled on the SCOTUS doing the right thing and lost.

I would have never guessed the supreme court would uphold the free speech limitation poertion of the CFR Bill and I'm sure every Constitutiona scholar is as suprized as I am.
