Mixed feelings.. obviously men have been over-villified and women have been over-victimized.. The Norweigian example aside, I'm not sure what this article is getting at. From the title I thought it would be advocating physical punishment for children, and I sort of picked up that vibe.
This may be only semi-related to the article but I just wanted to get it off my chest.. Yesterday I saw this man.. a mullet-sporting POS white trash slap his ~5 year old son because he said he had to go to the bathroom.. I'm not one to tell people how to raise their children, and in that situation I don't think it would have done any good... But it took every ounce of my control to keep me from taking the baseball bat I had that I bought for my nephew and teaching him something about pain..

How do you know it was his son and not just his girlfriend's son? I think that is the point of the article, thank in these situations the so called "abusive father" is rarely the actual father.

Son or not related to the man, thank you for wanting to do the right thing.
May I suggest that next time you walk up to him, with bat raised and say, "Mister, that was uncalled for."
Gets the point across without jail time for you.
