My "argument" is that the constitution gives Congress the power to regulate elections under Article I, Section 4. This is a totally intellectual argument.

And your argument that Article I, Section 4 somehow makes the 1st Amendment null & void is a totally idiotic argument...

It does in fact nullify any idea that the First amendment involves an absolute freedom of speech. It never meant any such thing.
