This whole development is a hell of a good argument for (and I'm not saying I won't) not re-electing Bush! This would never have come to the Supremes if he hadn't signed the damned thing in the first place!

I pose the question right here and now: Does George W. Bush deserve re-election? And I'm not talking about whether we should vote for him to stave off the alternative; I'm asking whether, based on his domestic record, he deserves a second term in office.

Sure, he's a great war leader.... but just how much does that mean if he's going to sign our rights away in the meantime???

What makes you think Bush can get a conservative appointed to the Supreme Court? The history of this administration, and the Republicans in general, shows that they are unable or unwilling to stand up for principle.

Huh? Bush signed this, as dozens of others have pointed out. He failed in HIS Constitutional duty already. What makes you think he won't appoint people who agree with him. I think he will. He obviously thought this law was good and agrees with the majority of the court. I suspect he would be quite content to appoint people who would vote with the majority on this case.

This for me is a reason NOT to vote for Bush.

So you are saying we need to re-elect Jorge Delano Bush so he can nominate a RINO Like Souter (Because he sure won't fight forcefully for a Conservative Judge) that the Congress will approve of so he can do what? Uphold laws that Jorge Delano Bush Signs that violate MY constitutional rights or throw them out?

Either way AMERICA loses because a COWARD in the White House is affraid of upsetting the likes of Ted Kennedy by respecting and PROTECTING our rights.
