I agree with your sentiments completely. Good news...probably the best under the circumstances and what the LTC really expected. But not the best. Our boys over there need a lot more like the LTC IMHO.

...and I am sure God has and will bless LTC West for the rightous desires of his heart and the actions he took (and will take) in concert with them.

I am encouraging him to write a book about his experience. I will buy it in an instance and then buy one for everyone of my kids, nephews, etc.

Amen to that! He put his soldiers before regulations, and because of his actions one or more families didn't get the dreaded knock at the door. LTC West will be a fine asset to any civilian organization.

To the loud few who openly wished for West to be drug through the mud. You know who you are. You cussed those of us who supported him. I have one question.

That's the whole point.

He was willing to do the right thing, despite that risk. it is what makes his action even more compelling. We need a lot more people willing to do that, particularly in the halls of congress and other elected offices, and amongst their appointees.

It's great that he hasn't been ruined by his brave action in defense of his men and his country, but it's sad to see the powers that be are too stiff-necked to admit they have screwed up.

I would have rather seen him get a raise and a promotion.
