"We need to remake the Democratic Party," Why pick the 60's?

Well, if anyone should know about "remake" it would be ol' Al. He has been remade more x than I can remember.

I find Rangel backing Wesley Clark interesting, .

But I would rather know who the swimmer is backing! And I think it is still Kennedy's Bill Clinton's Democratic Party.

The few remaining Democrats who are not at the mercy of the fever of putting Herself in the White House may possibly succeed in only managing to put the Democrat party in the ditch for several years, not allowing it to plunge into the abyss.

There will be several years before the Democrats can expunge their ranks of this poison, a suppurating infection that has sapped their strength and ability to reason logically. There was an opportunity, back in 1998, to purge themselves then, by demanding the focus of the infected thinking resign from office. But party was vastly more important than principle. They may lose power, doncha know.

The Republicans had gone through a similar devastation in 1974, when the Republican leadership of the House and Senate marched down Pennsylvania Avenue and demanded that Nixon resign, to avoid an almost-certain impeachment hearing. For this, the Republicans wandered in the wilderness for the span of the Carter Administration, but recovered to the degree that Ronaldus Magnus brought the American people, and the Republican party, back to respectability.

In one important aspect, it makes no difference whether a bad Chief Executive is removed from office or not. The party to which he belongs will suffer the consequences for years. If the departure is voluntary, the years will be shortened. But if the situation is fraught with denials and resistance, and the object of the political fight, clearly in the wrong, insists on standing ground despite overwhelming evidence of incompetence and mendacity, it will take far longer to reestablish trust and plausibility with the American people.

Repent, Democrats. You may never understand or agree with the positions taken by those whom you consider to be "righteous", but base your opposition on something more logical than blind and unreasoned defense of the incompetence of the regime of the "Former Occupant of the Oval Office, 1993-2001". They have been false prophets, and have failed you miserably.

Pass the popcorn, please. I just can't get enough of "Democrats Behaving Badly." It's my favorite show on television.

If anyone believes for a minute that this is not completely choroegraphed by the Clintons and Company, you are smoking something that alters reality. Don;t get me wrong, I think Howard Dean is a nutjob who is off on his own, but Algore is not "Breaking" with the Clinton's

And Clinton, who won the White House by leading the party to the center, has given plenty of hints that he sees Dean as a candidate who would lead the party back to the unelectable left.

DING DING DING we have a winner!. This statement says it all. Dean will continue to veer left and will get thoroughly trounced in November. Meanwhile this is allowing HILLARY! to set her self up as the person to "Bring the party back to the center".

Al Gore is the pawn to do just that. He endorses Dean, the as November nears he starts expressing concern about Dean's continued drift to the left (this is foreshadowing :-)). Then after the disaster in Novemeber, Gore (Now a STATESMAN) sees the error of his ways and boldly announce "WE MUST RALLY AROUND HILLARY IN THE CENTER!!!!"

FOlks, this whole charade has BUBBA's fingerprints all over it.

Al Gore lends his mind and power to the Dean camp
So much for Dean... Dumb and Dumber for President.. pretty much opens the way for Hillary, know what I mean ...

How in earth do you endorse someone you don't agree with 90% of the time? This shows how morally bankrupt the Dems are. WINNING IS EVERYTHING. I used to break with FR when it came to whether or not Dems are patriotic. I thought they just had a different way of seeing things. No more, they have tunnel vision. Winning is everything and they will do or sell out anyone or anything to get it. It's incredibly scary.

Rangel backs 2004 candidate Wesley Clark, who is supported by many Clinton loyalists. So perhaps it was no accident that Clark yesterday talked up Hillary Clinton as his possible running mate.

I foresee one or both of the Clintons going public in support of Clark soon. They will say that Dean is too left to be elected. Talk about a blood bath.

Whatever the roots of this schism, it is certainly better to face a divided enemy.
