It seems to me unlikely to be a 50 ca. That would do a lot of damage to a vehicle- but some people didn't even report their cars had been shot until the woman was killed, which suggests the impact and hole must have been rather small. Also, 50 ca. is very loud and not exactly concealable and would attract attention of anyone in the area when it was fired

I had a .50 cal. muzzle loader cross my mind but I don't think that would fit these shootings,either.

Good point. The one bullet hole I saw on TV looked like a .30 caliber hole. A .50 BMG round would pass through most automobiles unless it hit the engine block.
