It's Time to Force the FCC to do its Job!
In January, 18,000 PTC members filed official indecency complaints with the Federal Communications Commission about the use of the "f-word" during a live national broadcast of the Golden Globes awards on NBC.
But the FCC denied every single one of those complaints. It's now okay to say "f--k" on television!
The FCC is mandated by Congress to keep the publicly owned broadcast airwaves clean. Instead of protecting our interests, the FCC has just given a green light to every radio shock jock and TV producer to fill the airways with this word. Where will it end?
The Parents Television Council is leading a broad coalition of organizations demanding that the FCC do its job and get serious about indecency enforcement. But we need your help.
We are now calling for Congressional Hearings to hold the FCC accountable for failing to do its job. We have heard from a few Congressmen, but we need to hear from your Representative.
Please contact your Congressman and Senators today and demand a hearing to look at the FCC's failure to enforce decency laws. We must speak out right now or else risk losing this battle forever.
We urgently need you to take action! It will only take you a few seconds to fill-in the web form, which we will send to your Congressman and Senators.
Go Here to send a letter to your Congressmen and Senators now! This is your chance to take a stand against the FCC's inaction!

87th on my list of important things to think about. Life must be really good for those people if they can spend their time and efforts on something like this.

They threw the petition out, as they should. The F-bomb wasn't dropped on anyone personally, it was used in a general sense, which is the FCC rule. If any nattering nabob drops an F-bomb and disparages, offends or insults another public figure or viewer/listener?... A no-no.

And why the hell are conservatives looking to big government?
Here's a better idea. Turn off the TV.

Why would you call the coarsening of the airwaves a "non-issue"? So you do not care what is said on television? Really!

And why the hell are conservatives looking to big government? Dont be surprised Dan, the Taliban wing of the conservative movement is doing it all the time. The morality busybodies dont have enough of interest in their own lifes, they have to go about and protect the rest of us whether we want to be protected or not. What do you want to bet that none of the chief complainers even saw the original broadcast? Bet they had to go out of their way to be offended.

Probably shouldn't tell them that the f'bomb is on the radio in the middle of the day every time the song "Who are You" is played. That's been going on since 1977....

Is this a quality of life issue ?
Two legged welfare beasts in San Fransisco frequently expell a stream of diahrea into a busy street during the day. That too is a quality of life issue. Ignoring it won't make it go away.
Caligula Clinton infected our children with his purile antics while he occupied Our House. We are now reaping quality of life issues that he has sewn.

I wonder if anyone would object to a 4 year old calling a neighbor a m@th^rf*ck^r or if they'd just think it was cute.

Ignoring it won't make it go away. Try it.
Turn off your TV and you will never hear another "F" word from your TV. You are responsible for what comes into your home. YOU! You and no one else.

They aren't watching that and neither do I. You miss the point entirely.
If I have to explain this, one of us is dense. RADIO: you can be surfing and hit it. TV: you can be surfing and hit it. And no people shouldn't have to go out and get vchips to protect themselves from it. It worked great for 50 years. What changed? Values?
Thanks...I thought so. Or do you believe like all Libertarians that all limits imposed by government in the interest of decency are bad, just by the very nature of them being "limits?" Let's just throw out all laws. Where do you draw your line eh?
