The implication is that the Presidency would have been Gore's had the Republicans not taken the actions that they did (preventing the dems from stealing the election).

I believe that's true. I believe the Presidency would have been Gore's had the Florida Supreme Court's unconstitutional decision been allowed to stand.

It smacks of sour grapes and incessant whinning.

True. :)

But you are wrong.

Please explain how any action of the Florida Supreme Court could have made Gore President, given that the Florida Legislature was prepared to appoint Bush electors AND the Republicans had a majority in Congress.

How could Gore have possibly become President?

I believe that's true.

We all have hunches and beliefs. But in this case, the facts do not support your hunch.

But I will agree, if under the conditions desired by the Democrats, the counting had continued, Gore would have won.

The conditions desired:

1. Throw out the Military ballots as much as possible.
2. Count only in selected Democrat controlled counties.
3. Keep Republican observers out of the counting areas.
4. Establish different levels of acceptance to best suit the desired outcome.

Yes, certainly an outcome to be proud of for the Dems.
