The government not only "eats taxes," it creates value, e.g., the Internet, medical research, scientific research. Many new inventions are developed by government researchers or academic researchers using government grants. These inventions are then awarded to private companies to develop.

Well, we elected Bush who promised "Less Gov't" as a candidate in 2000....then again, he also was against "nation building" too...
