Yes, Mary Ann, you are so right. I've read each and every one of them and more than appreciate everyone's concern and prayers. I've forwarded this thread to many of Marilyn's friends so they can keep up with what's happening.
I didn't go to the hospital yesterday, instead took my grandson to Silver Springs for their Festival of Lights and a visit with Santa.
Marilyn's condition remains unchanged. I'm heading up there now.
Dear Alice;
Ok sweetie, I'll ping everyone I can think of..(Well, ask everyone with a ping list to ping, Including the TAINTED BLOOD TRAIL, those who have been fighting this fight for a long time.). I'm so happy (AND RELIEVED TO BE HONEST!!) you felt confident enough in Marilyns treatment at Shands, to finally have a DAY OFF from all this stress.
After the ENDLESS DAYS 24/7 for over a month, I can tell you that this is of great relief to me, and I know everyone else here too, to know you FINALLY had a day off!
Everyone needs some sunshine, and I'm sure your grandson provided it. :o)
I bet he missed being with you, though I'm also sure he understood too. Kids are so resilient.
PS. You mentioned Herpes ZOSTER. Just a question, I'm not a doctor, but did they do a SPINAL TAP at the site while the POSSIBLE Herpes ZOSTER was active? Did they CULTURE the site for Herpes ZOSTER? Because if she did have Zoster and they allowed it to go into the spinal column, I wonder what effect that would have on her?? PLEASE MENTION THIS TO HER DOCTORS. Sometimes doctors are so involved they can't see the forest for the tree's (I am not saying this to be arrogant, but they are so technical minded that they may miss the obvious). They are HUMAN too,..and by NETWORKING we can may find a resolution. An infectious disease Doc would need to be pulled in to figure out what that would do..but it is worth checking into! I don't know what it could do if it entered the spinal column. Please also bring to attention to her Liver specialist her elevated Albumin levels, and Bili Rubins while at Oncalla. And ask what her Ammonia levels were at Oncalla, and are now at Shands as they could really explain her cognitive process, K?.
We are "all" still praying for GOOD NEWS.
God Bless Marilyn and YOU sweetie. Please, give Marilyn a kiss on the forehead for all of us.... and tell her we wish her Merry CHRISTmas, and God's Blessings!
UPDATE US WHEN YOU CAN!! When there is any news...

(This was from me/ Vets Husbands and wife in an earlier post, Alice reposted it in her reply for emphasis and to respond to all of you :o)
Thanks for your prayers friend(s). I know they lift Alice when she comes in exhausted. There is no way a person can answer all of them, but sometimes reading them is so uplifting. A moment of rest, and meditation in prayer.

Here she is again, at work as an RN. Marilyn who once cared for others, now finds herself needing care. Like me, she got this insidious disease from a patient (I bet she doesn't hold that against her patient either!). I've seen her labs and her liver disease IS an issue. HOPEFULLY she isn't in liver failure, but her disease is complicating things. We just need to get her well. I'm posting her picture again, so we can put a FACE on our prayers. She is only 51 years young.
