It stands to reason that only one person would have the Medical Power of Attorney ("Advanced Health Care Directive") to designate, "Do Not Resuscitate", but it appears that Alice was denied this right because she wasn't the eldest sibling.
If that is the case, then why would she be the one to sign the DNR?

I know. They MADE their older brother sign the POA, then had Alice sign the DNR. Makes NO sense at all.

I'm as baffled as you are on this one. I wouldn't put my worst enemy in that hospital if even one third of what I've heard of Marilyns treatment is true! (And of course I believe with all my heart, everything Beach_Babe has told us).
